Arsenal Miss Out on Away Goal Advantage

April 16, 2024 - Bayern Munich booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals with a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena. After a goalless first leg, Arsenal took the lead in Munich through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's early goal. Bayern Munich fought back in the second half and took the lead through Thiago Alcantara and Leroy Sane. However, Eddie Nketiah's late goal for Arsenal gave the English side an away goal advantage.
Despite the away goal, Bayern Munich progressed to the semi-finals on aggregate. Joshua Kimmich's powerful header in the second half proved to be the decisive goal. Arsenal will rue their missed chances in the first half, as they had several opportunities to increase their lead. However, they were ultimately unable to find a way past Bayern Munich's defense in the second half.
Bayern Munich will now face either Real Madrid or Manchester City in the semi-finals. The draw for the semi-finals will take place on Friday, April 17.
