Starkville's Arnett Relieved as Head Coach of Bulldogs
Mississippi State Announces Departure Following Tumultuous Season
Zach Arnett's Tenure Ends Abruptly
Mississippi State has made a shocking move, firing head football coach Zach Arnett after just under a year at the helm. The decision comes as a surprise to many, as Arnett had a successful track record within the Bulldogs' program.
Arnett, a former All-American linebacker at Mississippi State, had spent a decade with the Bulldogs as a player and coach before being promoted to head coach in December 2022. In his brief tenure as head coach, Arnett led the Bulldogs to a 3-9 record.
Mississippi State Athletic Director Zac Selmon released a statement on Monday, thanking Arnett for his service and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
