Currently, the only method of payment accepted at the Chicago Skyway Toll Plaza is cash.
Bridging Communities Together
Since 1958, the Chicago Skyway has been connecting communities. It originally opened as the Calumet Skyway and is a 7.8-mile-long expressway connecting the Dan Ryan Expressway to the Indiana Toll Road.
History
When the Chicago Skyway first opened, officials expected it to carry 40,000 vehicles per day (AADT). Today, the Skyway carries over 100,000 vehicles per day, making it one of the busiest toll roads in the country.
